Kitchen of the Week: Life Imitates Art in a Swedish Painter’s New Kitchen
Swedish painter Emma Bernhard‘s kitchen area is much like her art: minimalist, bold, trustworthy, with a fondness for black. Regarded for her big-scale works featuring evocative black brush strokes, Emma collaborated with Nordiska Kök to style and design the room, deciding upon the firm’s streamlined Valchromat cupboards for a modern glimpse that offsets the normal warmth of the home’s pine plywood walls.
The enterprise notes an additional similarity in between Emma’s kitchen, which is composed of a few pieces (a row of tall cupboards, a row of decrease cupboards, plus an island), and her artwork: “This mix of three bodies can potentially be drawn as a parallel to Bernhard’s art, exactly where she likes to do the job inside the framework of a few repetitions, regardless of whether it is three factors in her sculptures or 3 ways in her paintings.”
Luckily, you never have to be an art graduate to admire her kitchen area. Let us take a tour.
